Hateeternal.com was a band. We focus on a lot of real estate on this website to the band, but we also pay more attention to death metal in general. We believe that death metal has a lot of potential, but for the most part, it is also a victim of its own success. On the one end, it allows for a tremendous amount of creativity by exploring “Bad taboo” or impolite or even politically incorrect topics.
Death metal can be quite liberating because when everybody is talking about living, enjoying life to the fullest, and beautiful blue skies and wide open spaces, there is something serene, liberating, and mind-expanding when you think about death. Death makes life possible, not the other way around.
In fact, if you are a stoic, you would quickly realize that death is what gives life meaning. Let’s flip the script. What if we all get to live forever? that would suck because life would really become basically an endless playback loop. You screw up, but it doesn’t even really matter. Days drag on. There is really no incentive for you to become a better person, to realize certain things, to love fully, to step out of the gravitational pull of your ego.
In essence, you are blind to the big stuff of life. It becomes just some sort of running gag that goes on day after day, week after week, month after month, and year after year. But when you realize that there is such a thing as death, sooner or later, you’re going to have to get your act together. Sooner or later, you’re going to live a life with purpose. You’re going to have to live life in such a way that at the end of the day, you would ask yourself, “What did I do today? How did it give me meaning? How did it give others meaning? How did I plants seeds of hope, inspiration, and enlightenment in other peoples lives? How did they do the same to me?
Far from some sort of arbitrary cutoff that is full of anxiety, fear, and worries, death is actually quite illuminating. It clarifies things. And this is the part of death metal that a lot of people don’t get. It’s easy to just focus on the seeming depression, the anxiety, the angst of upcoming death and the meaninglessness that a lot of people readily equate it with.
Real, purposeful, and high-quality death metal frames death the right way. And that’s the kind of philosophy that we here at hateeternal.com celebrate because hate, death, oblivion, these are tools. They enable us to see the truth with no sentiments, no nostalgia, no candy coating. And once we cross the threshold of our fear, we will quickly realize that the other side is freedom.

You can say a lot of this stuff is experimental. A lot is definite the product of last minute ideas. However, from all these odds and ends are the beginnings of complete pieces that can help any band or any music critic produce complete materials.
